Old tubes. New grooves.
Wookiz — French multi-instrumentalist of Russo-Indian origin, born in Paris in 1997 — found his first musical idol in an unlikely place: MetaEtemon from the Japanese anime Digimon (attacks: Banana Split, Nuclear Punch, Dark Spirits Deluxe). By age 8, this precocious tinkerer was secretly commandeering the family TV. Today, he's a fanatic of analog video, owning over 400 cathode-ray televisions from the 70s, 80s, and 90s — all recovered, repaired, and customized to become the visual canvases for his musical scenography. Raised on Paul McCartney's Chaos and Creation at Abbey Road masterclass from age 9, and obsessed with Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD (watched 157 times), he discovered the magic of the talkbox at 11. At 17, he became musical director of an electro-gospel choir. A dedicated Marmiton user since age 7, he's a master of biryani and pâté d'Auvergne — culinary skills passed down by his two grandmothers. At 18, he released his first EP, featuring the track "Who Are You." A compulsive collector and fetishist of vintage analog lutherie, he's a living encyclopedia of soul, funk, and R&B. The Saint Groove lives in him.
